The name dates back at least a hundred years ago to when the then hotel and restaurant was named "Tre Vecchi" ("Three Old Men") as it is believed the hotel was run by three old men.

The Hotel Tre Vecchi can be found under a characteristic portico in an antique building off the main street of Bologna.

Hotel Tre Vecchi is easily accessible by every form of transport and is 250 metres from the railway station. Car owners can benefit from the hotel's ample parking, close proximity to the dual carriage way (exit No. 7) and a 15 minute car ride to the airport.

All 96 carefully furnished bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, radio, mini-bar, safe, modem plug, and hair dryer. Smoking as well as non-smoking rooms are also available. The Prestige rooms all feature a jacuzzi bath, video recorder, and writing desk.
