POSITIVE ENERGY FROM SAIE 2008
The signals were strong and positive from the very first day: a 10% increase in
visitors, repeated on the following days, achieved the same number of
professionals as in the 2007 edition even though the exhibition was one day
Shorter.
SAIEnergia – the new exhibit devoted to renewable energies and low-consumption
technologies for sustainable building – created enormous interest in specialists and brought
SAIE new categories of professionals who enriched its many conferences and discussions.
Energy was the theme for SAIE 2008’s initiatives, including the Path to energy
efficiency in building, which started from the new exhibit and involved all of SAIE’s sectors.
The Cuore Mostra (Main Exhibit), SAIE’s traditional cultural event, entitled +QUALITY –
ENERGY, focused attention on Energy and Architecture and brought international experts
in sustainable building to Bologna, where they presented examples of state-of-the-art
architecture. Likewise, the show linked to the Cuore Mostra, produced by architect Marco
Visconti (MDN & Partners), was a great success, and presented a selection of the finest
examples of sustainable building in architecture.
Mario Cucinella was the testimonial and cultural-scientific coordinator of Saie Forum,
organized as part of SAIEnergia, where a Piazza dell’Energia – the high point of the
exhibition – presented ideas, technologies, and innovation for the architecture of the future.
SAIEnergia conferences were also very well attended. Here, engineers and leading companies
discussed tools for sustainable architecture, building systems and products for energy
efficiency, and renewable energy technologies.
